Peka Receives WIAC Athlete of the Week Honors

MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - UW-Eau Claire softball pitcher Sarah Peka (Chanhassen,Minn./Minnetonka) has been named a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athlete of the Week, WIAC Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations Matt Stanek announced today.

Peka led the No. 10-ranked Blugolds to a 4-2 win over No. 17-ranked Central College (Iowa) on April 1. In the victory, she struck out one, allowed five hits and only one earned run. With the win, Peka remained perfect on the year improving to 6-0. 

The Blugolds, with a 15-3 overall record will host UW-River Falls in a double-header in their home opener on April 5. The first pitch will be thrown out at 4:00pm at Bollinger Field.
