LA CROSSE, Wis (blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconin-Eau Claire men's and women's track and field teams opened up their outdoor season this past Friday at the Ashton May Invite at UW-La Crosse. The men's team placed third overall as a team with a score of 115.5 points and the women's team placed second with 113.5 points. Hannah Zastrow (Jr. - Spencer, Wis.) started her season off strong with an event win in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.48 seconds. On the men's side, Yakob Ekoue (Sr. - Hopkins, Minn.) put together a pair of victories by winning the shot put (16.64m) and discus throw (53.41m).
