Women’s 4 x 100-Meter Relay Continues Winning Ways at UW-La Crosse Eagle Open

LA CROSSE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – Three individuals and one relay team took home first place honors at the UW-La Crosse Eagle Open held today on Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.

The 4 x 100-meter relay squad of Kelsey Worachek (Fr.-Appleton, WI/Xavier), Jessie Reineck (Jr.-Greenville, WI/Fox Valley Lutheran), Lindsey Laufenberg (Sr.-Waunakee, WI) and Carly Fehler (Sr.-Oak Creek, WI) continue to run at a high level taking first place with a time of 46.57 seconds.  Last weekend the same relay ran the fastest time in NCAA Division III of 46.35 seconds run on the same track.  Both times are currently the two fastest outdoor times ran this season.

Fehler also ran the open 100-meter dash where she took first place honors finishing the race in 11.76 seconds.  For Fehler it was her second-fastest performance in the 100 this season after breaking the school record last weekend with a time of 11.62 seconds.

Jessica Rupnow (Jr.-Sussex, WI/Sussex-Hamilton) won the 400-meter dash clocking in at 57.40 seconds.  Brooke Patterson (Sr.-Sussex, WI/Sussex-Hamilton) finished third in the 400 with a time of 58.82 seconds.

Julia Stedman (Jr.-Maplewood, MN/North St. Paul) won the triple jump with a season-best leap of 37-8.5 (11.49 meters).  The jump was more than one foot farther than her previous best effort this season of 37-6.75 (11.45 meters).

Lucy Ramquist (Sr.-River Falls, WI) finished second in the 1,500-meter run with a season-best time of 4:33.57.  Kim Drewiske (Sr.-Green Bay, WI/Preble) earned a third place finish in the 100-meter hurdles doing so with her best time of the season of 14.74 seconds.

The Blugolds will return to La Crosse next week where they will compete in the La Crosse Last Chance Meet #2.  The event will take place on Thursday, May 14 beginning at 3:00 p.m.
