MENOMINEE, Wis (blugolds.com) - On Friday, the Blugold men and women's track and field teams dominated events at the UW-Stout quadrilateral meet, with 14 first place finishers. Yakob Ekoue (Sr. - Hopkins, Minn.) continued his undefeated season in shot put (17.60m) and weight throw (19.18m) with personal records in both events. Yakob boasts a 2nd place ranking nationally in shot put, as well as 5th place ranking in the weight throw. Hannah Zastrow (Jr. - Spencer, Wis) took the crown in high jump with a leap of 1.68m, and the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.79s. Hannah's younger sister, Leah Zastrow (Fr. - Spencer, Wis.) continued her strong season with a victory in pole vault (3.56m). In the 1600m run, Mason Shea won with a personal best time of 4:14.46. On the women's side, senior Carolyn Shult (Sr. Augusta, Wis) also crushed her personal best with a time of 5:00.04.
