Women's Swimming & Diving Takes Second at Pointer Invite

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's swimming & diving team finished in second place out of five teams at the two-day UW-Stevens Point Invite.

UW-La Crosse won with 1,084.5 points while the Blugolds earned 850 to finish second. MSU-Mankato was third with 797.5 while UW-Stevens point was fourth with 598 and UW-Whitewater was fifth with 35.

The Blugolds had a number of impressive performances and finished with three event victories.

In the 1,650-yard freestyle, Lisa Reed (So.-Duluth, Minn./East) won with a time of 18:29.20.

Maddie Gray (Fr.-Roseville, Minn.) won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:14.32.

Diving, Amanda Baker (Fr.-Hudson, Wis.) took first in the three-meter with 436.40 points.

The Blugolds will compete in their final meet of the regular season next Saturday at UW-Whitewater. Action will get underway at 1 p.m.
