Women's Swimming & Diving Seventh at Rochester Invite

ROCHESTER, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's swimming & diving team finished in seventh place out of 11 teams at the Rochester Mid-Season Invitational, hosted by St. Cloud State University (Minn.) this weekend.

Eau Claire finished with 567.5 points to take seventh while St. Cloud State won with 1,655.

The Blugolds finished with five top-six finishes.

Freshman diver Amanda Baker (Hudson, Wis.) had the highest finish of the weekend as she came in third place in the three-meter dive with a score of 402.30.

Sara Eggebrecht (Sr.-Abbotsford, Wis./Colby) swam to a sixth-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:10.67. She also took sixth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.36.

In the 400-yard medley relay, Eggebrecht, Taylor Kindschy (So.-New London, Wis.), Maggie Reilly (Jr.-Saint Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville) and Grace Fair (Sr.-Monticello, Minn.) took sixth with a time of 4:03.07.

In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Kristin Peters (Jr.-Farmington, Minn.), Abby Meyer (Jr.-Apple Valley, Minn.), Ellie Hostetler (Fr.-St. Paul, Minn./Convent of the Visitation) and Fair came in sixth with a time of 1:39.70.

Next weekend, the Blugolds will be at the St. Thomas Invitational. Action will get underway Friday and will conclude Saturday.
