Women's Swimming & Diving Takes Second at St. Thomas Invite

ST. PAUL, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's swimming & diving team finished in second place out of eight teams at the St. Thomas Invitational this past weekend.

Eau Claire finished with 748 points while St. Thomas won with 998. Luther College (Iowa) was third with 588.

The Blugolds won five events.

Amanda Baker (Fr.-Hudson, Wis.) and Grace Fair (Sr.-Monticello, Minn.) each won two events.

Baker took first in the three-meter dive with a score of 219.45 and won the one-meter dive with 221.75 points.

Fair claimed first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.29 seconds and also won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.89 seconds.

In the 200-yard freestyle, Kristin Peters (Jr.-Farmington, Minn.) won with a time of 2:03.14.

The Blugolds will now be off for the holidays and their next competition will be mid-January.
