Women's Swimming & Diving Takes Second at Home Meet

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's swimming & diving team finished in second place out of four teams competing at the McPhee Physical Education Center today.

Eau Claire finished with 568.5 points while MSU-Moorhead won with 683.5. UW-Oshkosh was third with 294 and UW-River Falls finished fourth with 88.

The Blugolds captured five event victories.

Amanda Baker (Fr.-Hudson, Wis.) led the team with two wins. She won the three-meter dive with a score of 261 and the one-meter with a mark of 252.4.

In the 100-yard freestyle, Grace Fair (Sr.-Monticello, Minn.) took first with a time of 55.12 seconds, and Maddie Gray (Fr.-Roseville, Minn.) won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:01.90.

Maggie Reilly (Jr.-Saint Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville) was victorious in the 200-yard butterfly as she came in with a time of 2:22.99.

Friday night, the Blugolds also hosted MSU-Moorhead in a dual meet. The Blugolds narrowly fell 124-119. Eau Claire won seven events.

Baker finished in the top spot in both the one and three-meter dives with respective scores of 240.25 and 252.45.

In the 400-yard individual medley, Reilly took first with a time of 4:54.16 while she also won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:01.55.

Lisa Reed (So.-Duluth, Minn./East) took first in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:17.63.

Gray came in first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:02.09.

The Blugolds' 400-yard medley relay team of Sara Eggebrecht (Sr.-Abbotsford, Wis./Colby), Taylor Kindschy (So.-New London, Wis.), Reilly and Fair took first with a time of 4:08.72.

The Blugolds will take a little time off now with their next competition scheduled for Dec. 1-2 at the Rochester Invitational, hosted by St. Cloud.
