EAU CLAIRE, WI. (blugolds.com) The UW-Eau Claire Women's lacrosse team snagged their second win in two days with a final score of 22-3 against the Wartburg Knights.
The Blugolds were on fire in the first quarter of the game. Kylah Krause (Jr.-Belleville, IL/East) scored the first goal at 9:54, quickly followed up by a goal from Becky Goetsch (Fr.-Maple Grove, MN) assisted by Ruby Pozorski (Fr.-Burnsville, MN). Eau Claire ended the first quarter up 8-1 against the Knights. The offense slowed down in the second quarter with only three goals from the Blugolds. Wartburg scored two of their three goals this quarter.
To start the second half Samantha Burns (Fr.-Mahtomedi, MN) scored two back to back goals at 13:19 and 12:24 putting the Blugolds up 13-2. Eau Claire had an outstanding offensive gaming scoring a total of 22 goals. Becky Goetsch and Alexie Romanelli (Fr.- Naperville, IL) led the Blugolds with five goals a pieces.
Eau Claire had 44 shots on goal compared to Wartburg's 15 and converted on half of their free position shots.
