Blugolds Defend Home Turf Moving to 10-0

EAU CLAIRE, WI (blugolds.com) The UW-Eau Claire Women's Lacrosse team played on their home turf for Senior Night against Edgewood. The Blugolds move to 10-0 with a 19-3 statement win.

UW-Eau Claire took control over the first quarter with Samantha Burns (Fr.-Mahtomedi, MN) scoring the first goal at 8:52 assisted by Becky Goetsch (Fr.- Maple Grove, MN). The Blugolds ended the quarter with five goals and four saves. Eau Claire had offensive possession for a majority of the first half. Riley Domagala (So.-Bloomington, MN/Jefferson) tallied four assists in first 30 minutes of play.

Goetsch led the third quarter with two goals closing out the quarter at 13-3. The Blugolds held a shutout to end the game only allowing nine total shots in the final quarter. Eau Claire out shot Edgewood 42-18. Riley Domagala recorded a season high six assists while Goetsch added six goals helping Eau Claire secure the victory.

UW-Eau Claire will take the field again Wednesday April 6th against UW-River Falls at Ramer Field.
