Green named Co-Player of the Year; Six Others Earn All-WIAC Honors

MADISON, Wis. (blugolds.com) – The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has announced the 2023 Men's Ice Hockey All-WIAC teams and individual awards on Tuesday as voted on by the league coaches. UW-Eau Claire's Quinn Green (Jr. – West Chicago, Ill./St. Charles East) highlights the list being named Kwik Trip Co-Player of the Year as seven Blugolds find themselves with All-WIAC honors.

Quinn Green is the third Blugold to receive the distinction, joining Tyler Green in 2016 and Patrick Moore in 2017. He is second in the conference with 14 goals, third with 26 points, ninth with 74 shots and 10th with a plus/minus of 11. Green added three game-winning goals.

Also named to the All-WIAC First team was Dawson Klein (So. – Lakeville, Minn./South), Willy Stauber (Jr. – Duluth, Minn./Marshall), and Connor Szmul (Jr. – Castle Rock, Colo./Castle View). The two Blugolds named to the All-WIAC Honorable Mention were Ryan Green (Jr. – Muskego, Wis.) and Ty Readman (Sr. – Edmonton, Alberta/Vimy Ridge Academy). Tyler Love (Sr. – Pittsburgh, Pa./Moon Area) was named to the WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

An All-Sportsmanship Team was chosen for individuals that displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season. It included one member from each school.
