Track & Field Begin Outdoor Season With Eight Event Winners

LA CROSSE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's and women's track & field teams were outside for their season opener of their 2022 outdoor seasons on Saturday as they competed at the 2022 Ashton May Invite hosted by UW-La Crosse. With the men coming off a 2nd place finish and the women 10th place at the 2021 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, the Blugolds had eight event winners and twenty athletes place in the top five of their respective events.

1st Place:

2nd Place:

Catie Fobbe (Sr. – Annandale, MN/Maple Lake) – Hammer Throw (50.86m)

The Blugolds will gear up for next week's Platteville Invitational on Thursday and Friday, April 14th and 15th. The two-day event is set to begin at 6PM on Thursday with the hammer throws and 5000m race.
