Wijesinghe earns ITA Regional honors

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced the 2020 Division III Women's ITA Regional Awards on Wednesday, with Natalie Wijesinghe (Sr. - Apple Valley, MN) earning the Central Region's Most Improved Senior Award.

Wijesinghe was named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Player of the Year this fall after claiming the No. 1 singles WIAC title and teamed up with Emily Cooper to win the No. 1 doubles crown as well. Wijesinghe tallied a 14-2 record in singles and an 8-4 record in doubles this fall. She was the second Blugold in program history to win WIAC Player of the Year honors.

In addition, Wijesinghe was twice named WIAC Singles Player of the Week and advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA singles tournament and the round of 16 for doubles this season.
