Men's Golf Takes Third at Twin Cities Classic

LE SUEUR, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire men's golf team finished in third place out of 18 teams after three rounds of competition at the Twin Cities Classic, hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.).

Final Results

The Blugolds led after day one and were second after day two, but finished in third with 912 strokes. The University of Manitoba won the tournament with 903 strokes while Saint John's University (Minn.) was second with 910. Last year, the Blugolds finished in sixth place.

Brady Hanson (Fr.-Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge) took first out of 100 golfers at this year's event with 218 strokes (+4). He golfed as an individual for Eau Claire so his score did not count for the team's total.

Three other Blugolds finished tied for 18th place or better.

Joey Dreier (Fr.-New London, Minn.) tied for eighth with 225 strokes while Jake Erickson (Jr.-Chaska, Minn./Academy of Holy Angels) shot 228 to tie for 14th. Tied for 18th place with 229 strokes was Ben Brooks (Sr.-Beaver Dam, Wis.).

The Twin Cities Classic was the Blugolds' final tournament for the fall season. They will be back in action in the spring.
