Men's Golf Competes in Three Tournaments over the Weekend

MONTICELLO, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – With the regular season quickly coming to a close, the UW-Eau Claire men's golf team competed in three separate tournaments this weekend, one in Wisconsin and two in Minnesota.

Friday, the Blugolds took on UW-Stout in a dual at Trempeauleau Mountain Golf Club in Trempeauleau, Wis. Eau Claire came up short 291-286 but Ben Brooks (Jr.-Beaver Dam, Wis.) tied for first with 70 strokes (-1).

Sunday, Eau Claire finished in fourth place out of 16 teams at the Saint John's University Winter Invitational with 593 strokes. Saint John's won the event with 576 strokes.

Golfers competed in two 18-hole rounds on Sunday at Monticello Country Club in Monticello, Minn.

Tim McCormick (Sr.-Madison, Wis./Memorial) led the Blugolds as he tied for fifth with 143 strokes.

On Monday, golfers again competed at Monticello Country Club in the Saint John's University Spring Invitational, this time in just one 18-hole round.

The Blugolds finished in sixth place out of 14 teams with Brooks and McCormick again leading the way for Eau Claire with 73 strokes to tie for 13th place.

Eau Claire will close out the regular season this Friday and Saturday, competing in two rounds at the Gustavus Adolphus Invitational. Golfers will compete Friday at Le Sueur Country Club in Le Sueur, Minn. and will compete Saturday at the Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan, Minn.
