Men's Golf Takes Sixth at Twin Cities Classic

WAYZATA, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire men's golf team wrapped up its fall season with a sixth place finish at the Twin Cities Classic hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College, which started Saturday and concluded today.

Eau Claire finished the tournament with 905 strokes while Gustavus won with 879. The University of Manitoba took second with 884 strokes and Nebraska Wesleyan, along with St. Thomas tied for third with 889.

Charlie Boyechko of Manitoba won medalist honors with 213 strokes (-3) out of 90 golfers.

Tim McCormick (Sr.-Madison, Wis./Memorial) led the Blugolds as he tied for 11th place with 222 strokes. On day one, he led the entire field after shooting a 68, which tied for a tournament low with two others.

Also in the top 25 was Ben Brooks (Jr.-Beaver Dam, Wis.), who recorded 227 strokes to tie for 21st.

The Blugolds will be back in action in the spring.
