EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The 2012-13 UW-Eau Claire Athletics season will get underway August 31 and five teams will be in action during the opening weekend.
Starting Friday, the Blugold volleyball team will host its annual Labor Day Classic while women's soccer will open the season in New York and women's tennis will start its season at UW-Whitewater.
Saturday, volleyball, soccer and women's tennis will again be in action but football and women's golf will also start their seasons. Football will host eighth-ranked University of St. Thomas in the first meeting ever between the two teams while the women's golf team will host its annual two-day Doug Georgianni Memorial Invitational.
