EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) - The 2018 season schedule has officially been released for the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire football team. Taking a look ahead to the upcoming fall, here is what to expect for Blugolds football and their slate of games.

Full Schedule

Head Coach Dan Larson enters his third year at the helm and is ready to take the squad to new heights.

"We are excited for the 2018 season to get here and the challenges that undoubtedly await," said Larson. "Our non-conference schedule has three Midwest opponents from three different conferences to go along with playing in arguably the toughest Division III conference in the country."

The Blugolds hope to exceed their win total from a year ago (1-9 overall) before conference play even begins. They open up the year at Loras College on September 1. The home opener takes place on September 8 against St. Norbert. The Blugolds then have their bye week before concluding non-conference play at the always-tough University of St. Thomas on September 22.

Games against Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) opponents kick off with a big one to close out September. Eau Claire will travel west on I-94 to take on rival UW-Stout on September 29.

October begins with a pair of WIAC contests at Carson Park. The Blugolds host UW-Stevens Point for Homecoming on October 6 and take on the UW-Whitewater Warhawks a week later on October 13. The month is rounded out with a pair of road tests in UW-Platteville (Oct. 20) and UW-River Falls (Oct. 27).

The regular season finishes up the first two weekends in November when UW-Oshkosh (Nov. 3) and UW-La Crosse (Nov. 10) make the trek to Eau Claire.

Larson concluded with, "Great challenges [and] great opportunities [await], and we are counting down the days until fall camp and the season to start!"
