Ruden, Kabe, and Stensberg named Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week

MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Jessie Ruden (So. - Rochester, MN/John Marshall), Quincy Kabe (Fr. - Buffalo, MN) and Kate Stensburg (Sr. - Antigo, WI) have been named Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week, as was announced by Assistant Commissioner of Media Relations Matt Stanek.

Ruden averaged 18.5 points per game during the week, leading the Blugolds to a 2-0 start on the season. She had a game-high 22 points in a 64-48 triumph on Feb. 5 and a team-high four assists in a 76-58 win on Feb. 3. Ruden shot 48.0 percent (12-for-25) on the week and grabbed three rebounds. This was the first time UW-Eau Claire beat UW-La Crosse twice in a season dating back to 2016. 

Stensburg raced past everyone on Saturday. In a 181-54 dual meet victory over UW-Whitewater, Stensberg won the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:11.48, which was over 20 seconds faster than the next competitor. She also won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:28.55. 

Kabe shined in his first NCAA meet as a Blugold. In a 176-64 dual meet win against UW-Whitewater on Feb. 6, Quincy won the one-meter diving with a score of 278.50 and three-meter board with a score of 280.35. Both were the top scores in the conference during the week.
