LA CROSSE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's outdoor track & field team competed at last chance meets at both UW-La Crosse and North Central College (Ill.) this weekend.
At La Crosse, Eau Claire won two events and took third or better in five others.
Kim Miresse (Sr.-Waukesha, Wis./North) won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.62, the top time for the Blugolds this season.
The 4x100-meter relay team also took first, winning with a time of 48.08 seconds, almost a full second in front of the rest of the field.
At North Central, Steph Sjostrom (Jr.-Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park) was 12th in the 1,500-meter run but had the top time in the event for the Blugolds this year as she finished with a time of 4:40.77. Ashlyn Mauer (Jr.-Sheboygan Falls, Wis.) also claimed fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with the Blugolds' best time so far this year, a time of 10:54.71.
Next Thursday and Friday the Blugolds will compete in two more last chance meets at La Crosse and Augustana (Ill.).
