STEVENS POINT, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – In its first conference match since Sept. 14, the UW-Eau Claire women's tennis team picked up a 9-0 victory over UW-Stevens Point today.
The Blugolds played a number of close singles matches but came away with victories in all six.
Paige Kuepers (So.-Green Bay, Wis./Southwest) dropped the fewest games in the No. 6 spot, falling just twice. She won 6-0, 6-2 to improve to 3-0 at No. 6 on the season.
In doubles play, Kuepers and Renee Nelson (Jr.-Madison, Wis./La Follette) lost the fewest games as they picked up an 8-3 victory at No. 3. The duo improves to 7-0 in the No. 3 doubles spot this season.
The Blugolds are now 5-2 on the season and 3-1 in conference play.
Saturday, the Blugolds will be at UW-Oshkosh for a competition beginning at noon.
