EAU CLAIRE, Wisconsin. (blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire women's soccer team took on UW- Stevens Point at home Wednesday night, falling to the Pointers 0-1.
The Blugolds went on the attack right at first whistle, maintaining the pressure on the Pointer's defense for the entire 90 minutes. Though they dominated in shots 19-4, Megan Hansen (Jr. – Andover, MN) having 7 of her own, the Pointers got lucky midway through the second half on a corner kick and recorded the lone score of the game.
The Blugolds maintained good ball movement, consistent possession, set up good offensive opportunities, and kept the physicality high, totaling 9 fouls.
Anna Sveiven (Sr. – Blaine, MN) stopped 3 shots and is now at 2-5-1 on the season, the team now holding a record of 7-7-2.
The Blugolds will hit the road Sunday for another Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
matchup against UW- River Falls. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
