(Blugolds.com) — Playing in the first WIAC Championship tournament, the UW-Eau Claire women’s hockey team traveled to River Falls to take on the top-seeded Falcons in the semifinals. The Falcons scored two goals in the first period and never looked back as they cruised to an 8-0 win.

With both games remaining against UW-River Falls, that task would not be easy. That proved to be the case Saturday afternoon with the Blugolds falling to the Falcons on the road, 5-1.

    STEVENS POINT, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The three previous times the UW-Eau Claire women’s hockey team and UW-Stevens Point have squared off it was a one-goal game. The Pointers were victorious in all three, including a 4-3 overtime victory the first time around. With the Blugolds traveling to Stevens Point for the final time this year, they weren’t able to keep it as close this time around, falling 4-0.

    ST. PAUL, Minn. (Blugolds.com) — The UW-Eau Claire women’s hockey team squared off with Hamline University (Minn.) just a week ago in Eau Claire at Hobbs Ice Center. The Blugolds held on for a 4-3 victory. Wednesday night, the two teams met again, this time in St. Paul at Warner Coliseum. The result was not as favorable for the Blugolds this time, as they fell 3-1.
