Blugolds Fall Short Against UW-Stout

MENOMONIE, Wis. (blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire gymnastics team traveled to conference competitor UW-Stout. The Blugolds placed in the top three in four different events, but came up short 186.3-179.675.

Results

Andrea Gessner (Sr.- Lino Lake, MN/Centennial) placed second in in Vault posting a score of 9.425. This score was a season high for Gessner, improving from the past two meets. Danielle Malecha (Sr.-Inver Grove Heights, MN/Rosemount) also posted a season high on Bars scoring 9.30, which is .725 higher then her season best. Four other Blugolds placed in the top-5 in their events. Harriet Toth (Fr.-Regina, SK/Martin) and Abby Weber (Jr.-Sartell, MN) tied for 5th place on the Beam with a score of 9.175.

Two Blugolds placed in the top-5 on the Floor routine. Emma Barry(Jr. -Allen Park, MI) placed third with a score of 9.450, and Bailey Davidson (Sr. -Eagan, MN/Eastview) followed in fourth place with a score of 9.425.

The Blugolds will travel to Gustavus Adolphus College for their next competition on Friday, February 11th at 6:30 PM.
