Gymnastics Posts Third Highest Score in Two Years in Home Opener

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire gymnastics team held their first dual of 2022 on Thursday. With a new coach at the helm and fans back in the stands, the Blugolds posted their third highest score in the past two seasons as they fell to UW-Oshkosh 187.875-180.825.

Results

As a team, the Blugolds competed hard in their first meet back at McPhee in the new season. With Head Coach Jessie DeZiel making her debut at the NCAA Division III level, UW-Eau Claire posted their third highest score since 2019.

Tia Ravara (So. – San Leandro, CA) was the lone Blugold taking a first-place finish in the events. With a 9.450 on the beam, Ravara kept UWEC close with the Titans.

Emma Barry (Jr. – Allen Park, MI) also placed in the top-3 with a 9.525 during her floor routine earning her a third-place finish.

Harriet Toth (Fr. – Regina, SK) was the lone All-Around entry during the evening. Toth posted a total 36.100 points along with a fifth-place finish in the vault (9.500).

The Blugolds will be on the road for their next dual on Friday, January 28th. UWEC will travel to La Crosse, WI to take on the UW-La Crosse Eagles. The meet is scheduled to begin at 6:30PM.
