Blugolds fall to Pipers

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire gymnastics team hosted Hamline University on Thursday night, falling to the Pipers by a score of 181.075 to 178.550.

Results

Emma Barry (Fr. – Allen Park, MI) took top honors on the uneven parallel bars, posting a score of 9.275.  Danielle Malecha (So. - Inver Grove Heights, MN/Rosemount) also won an event for Eau Claire, taking first on the balance beam with a 9.600.

Andrea Gessner (Jr. – Lino Lakes, MN/Centennial) led the Blugolds on vault, placing third with a 9.275 while Jordan Ehde (Sr. - Stillwater, MN) placed third on the floor exercise with a 9.375. Ehde was also third in the all-round, placing fifth on vault (9.250), sixth on bars (8.600) and 10th on beam (8.450) for an overall score of 35.675.

The Blugolds will take a week off before returning to McPhee to host UW-Stout on Friday, February 21st at 6:30 p.m.
