HAM LAKE, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The No. 25 University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's golf team took second place as a team at the Augsburg Fall Invitational on Sunday, with Isaac Prefontaine (Jr. – New Franken, WI/Green Bay Preble) finishing third overall to lead the Blugolds.
The Blugolds' A squad shot a 301 on Sunday to finish with a two-round score of 600 at the Majestic Oaks Golf Club. Nebraska Wesleyan turned in a score of 290 to win the tournament with a 596.
UW-Eau Claire's B squad shot a 316 on Sunday to finish in eighth (621).
Prefontaine led UW-Eau Claire with a 73 on the day, finishing with a 148 while Cole Jahnke (So. – Stillwater, MN) and Alex Rogan (Sr. – Lino Lakes, MN/Centennial) matched each other's scores for the second-straight day, tallying 76s to finish at 150 and tie for fifth place.
Sean Murphy (Fr. – Middleton, WI/Waunakee) also made the Top 10, finishing in a tie for seventh with a 74 (151).
Eau Claire will be back in action next week as they host the Wrigglesworth Invitational September 8-9 at Wild Ridge Golf Course and the Eau Claire Golf and Country Club.
