OSHKOSH, Wis. (blugolds.com)- The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's soccer team went on the road and dropped a heartbreaker to UW-Oshkosh Saturday night, 2-1.

Box Score

Neither offense was able to put the ball in the net during the first, both finishing the half with seven shots. Hannah Schaetzel (Jr.-Germantown, WI) was the one putting the most pressure on the Titans, with two of those shots.

Schaetzel was able to get Eau Claire on the board first with a goal in the 56th minute, off an assist from Emily Sullivan (Sr.-Medina, MN/Wayzata). The goal was Schaetzel's second of the season.

An eventful second half concluded with an Oshkosh goal just moments before the end of regulation, forcing the game into overtime. Even with several scoring opportunities, Eau Claire couldn't get on the board again as a Titan goal in second overtime sealed the close loss.

Despite the loss, the Blugolds put eight shots on goal and Anna Sveiven (Jr.-Blaine, MN/Centennial) was once again strong in net. Sveiven finished the match with eight saves in total.

Eau Claire now stands 10-5, with a 2-2 record in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. They go on the road once again this week, traveling to Macalester (Minn.) on Wednesday, October 23rd.
