Blugolds narrowly fall to Winona State

WINONA, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire gymnastics team had another close meet on Tuesday night, but this time fell on the road to Winona State University by a score of 183.100 to 182.350.

Results

Both teams recorded a score of 45.975 on vault and were separated by just .025 on the floor exercise. However, the Warriors held a 46.100-45.500 advantage on the uneven parallel bars and just edged the Blugolds on beam (44.750-44.625).

Ashley Benes (So.- Grand Rapids, MN) lead Eau Claire on vault, winning the event with a season-best, 9.600. Hannah Lewis (Sr. – Saline, MI) also won an event for the Blugolds, scoring a 9.475 while Amelia Moorehouse (Sr. – Gregory, MI/FlexTech) scored a season-best 9.525 on floor to win the event. Tayla Thome (Fr. – Medina, OH/Buckeye) led Eau Claire on beam with a 9.350, placing third.
