Men's Indoor Track & Field Competes at St. Thomas Showcase

ST. PAUL, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire men's indoor track & field team came away with wins in four events, competing at the University of St. Thomas Showcase on Friday.

Results

Thurgood Dennis (Jr.-Allouez, Wis./Green Bay Notre Dame) secured two wins for the Blugolds, taking first in the 60-meter and 200-meter dashes. He finished the 60-meter with a time of 6.81, just .02 seconds off his own school record and the second fastest time in the nation this season, while crossing the finish line in 22.12 seconds in the 200-meter dash.

In the 800-meter run, Matt Scott (Sr.-Kiel, Wis.) won with a time of 1:53.88, .17 seconds short of a school record that has been held since 2001.

In the field, Roger Steen (Jr.-Luck, Wis.) won the shot put with a distance of 16.99 meters (55-9), a season-best.

Additionally, the Blugolds claimed eight other top-three finishes.

Next Saturday the Blugolds will end the regular season at UW-Stevens Point for the Pointer Eastbay Invite. Action will get underway at 10:30 a.m.
