ROCHESTER, Minn. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's tennis team was back on the road on Sunday, defeating Coe College 6-3 at the Kluski Tennis Center.
The Blugolds picked up victories at No. 2, 3, 5 and 6 singles and at No. 2 and 3 doubles to improve to 9-2 on the season.
Earning wins for the Blugolds were:
No. 2 Singles - Grant Mauthe (Sr. – Neenah, WI) def. Jon Lansing 6-7(3), 6-4, 1-0(9)
No. 3 Singles - Matt Christensen (Jr. - Rochester, MN/Century) def. Nathan Meskell 6-2, 7-5
No. 5 Singles – RJ Griffiths (Fr. – Rogers, MN) def. Jordan Oaks, 6-3, 6-3
No. 6 Singles – John Foley (So. – Wayzata, MN) def. Jack Cook, 6-1, 6-0
No. 2 Doubles – Hunter Roseth (So. - Lakeville, MN/South)/ Matt Christensen (Jr. - Rochester, MN/Century) def. Jon Lansing/Nathan Meskell, 8-4
No. 3 Doubles – Foley/ Matt Gilbert (Sr. – Minneapolis, MN/Washburn) def. Oaks/Cook, 8-1
The Blugolds will be back in action May 1st when they take on the University of Chicago at the Ratner Athletic Center at 1 p.m.
