Men's soccer set for 2023 season

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's soccer team has unveiled its 2023 schedule.

Men's Soccer 2023 Schedule

The Blugolds, fresh off reaching the second round of the NCAA Tournament last season, will kick off the new campaign at St. Scholastica on Sept. 1. UW-Eau Claire also faces UW-Superior, Macalester and Chicago in early September road games before its home debut.

The Blugolds host Northland College in their home opener on Sept. 11 at Simpson Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

UW-Eau Claire plays six of its first 10 contests on the road, but will be at home for four of seven games in October. The Blugolds play four teams that qualified for last season's NCAA Tournament, including defending national champion Chicago on Sept. 9. They also have a rematch against Luther, who they defeated in the first round of last year's NCAA Tournament, on Oct 21.

"Building on to year 2 and our NCAA Tournament run, we are going into year 3 very excited to have the opportunity to test ourselves early against defending national champions in the University of Chicago," Blugolds coach Casey Holm said. "We look forward to carrying the momentum we have built, returning the majority of our roster and adding an exceptional additional third recruiting class to the mix."

The Blugolds went 19-2-1 last season. They reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history and promptly picked up the first tournament win in team history with a 3-1 victory over Luther in the opening round. They fell to Gustavus Adolphus in a penalty kick shootout in the second round.
