EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's golf team wrapped up their annual Frank Wrigglesworth Blugold Invitational on Monday. After finding themselves in a tie for first place after round 1, UW-Eau Claire pulled ahead of the field and took 1st place (627) in the twelve-team field. Owen Covey (Fr. – New Richmond, WI) led the way and earned his spot a co-medalist champion after shooting a 77 in day one and a 76 in day two.

Covey shot eleven over par on the Eau Claire Golf and Country Club and tied for first out of the 61 player field.
Matt Fladten (Sr. – Eau Claire, WI/Memorial) tied for sixth place with his 156 (+13) strokes.
Not far behind Fladten was Fred Moede (Fr. – Prior Lake, MN/Savage) and Mason Gardner (Sr. – Waupaca, WI) who placed T-12th and T-15th to push UWEC to the top of the leaderboard.
The Blugolds will be back on the course on Saturday, September 25th when they travel to Ramsey, MN to play in the Twin Cities Classic.
