Blugolds garner All-WIAC honors

MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) office announced the 2020 All-WIAC men's basketball awards on Wednesday, with six Blugold athletes receiving honors.

Cole Rabedeaux (Sr. – Poulsbo, WA/North Kitsap) received first team All -WIAC in his final season with Eau Claire. Rabedeaux's career season so far includes 544 points, 69 assists, 118 rebounds, 28 games started, and his 1000th-point milestone that was awarded after his first basket against UW-Stevens Point on February 8th. The senior was second in the WIAC in scoring, averaging 19.4 points per game.

Carter Brooks (Jr. – Lakeville, MN/North) earned All-WIAC honorable mention honors with 302 points, 150 rebounds, 29 blocks, and 778 minutes. Brooks has started 27 out of the 28 games he has played and has helped the Blugold defense lock down the paint all season long.

Cameron Kuepers (Jr. – Madison, WI/Lakeside Lutheran) also received All-WIAC honorable mention honors. Kuepers has tallied a career high in points (327), three -point percentage (42.9%), minutes (858), and many more through this year's campaign. He shot particularly well in conference play going 21 of 42 from beyond the arc and 57 of 124 field goals total.

Spencer Page (So. – Rice Lake, WI) was another player to be recognized with All-WIAC honorable mention honors. Page eclipsed 500 career points late in the season and has tallied 100 rebounds, 11 steals, and 58 three-point shots so far. He scored a game-high 25 points in just his second game of the year against Aurora University.

Blake Wacholz (Sr. – Lakeville, MN/South) was also honored, earning All-WAC All-Defensive Team recognition in his final season with the Blugolds. Wacholz has accounted for 102 rebounds, 69 assists, and 50 steals as a guard this season.

In addition, Adam Link (Sr. – Marshall, WI) was named to the All-Sportsmanship team for Eau Claire.

The Blugolds will be in action on Friday as they head to the Saint John's University (Minn.) NCAA Regional where they will face Whitman College (Wash.) in the First Round with a 5 p.m. start.
