Men's Basketball tallies 23-point win over Blue Devils

Eau Claire, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's basketball team advances to 3-3 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) with a home win by a score of 87-64 against the UW-Stout Blue Devils.

After one half of play, the Blugolds held an eight point lead with a score of 41-33.  Eau Claire's bench came up big in the first half, producing 21 points.  The Blugolds out-rebounded the Blue Devils 20-12 during the first half of play.

Eau Claire came out in the second half with a 14-4 run to take a 55-37 lead and never looked back.  The Blugold bench continued their success throughout the second half, scoring 37 total points throughout the game.  Eau Claire shot well on the floor (53.7 percent) and behind the arc (40 percent).  The Blugolds defense also stepped up big, only allowing 35.2 percent from the floor and 19 percent of three-point attempts.

Scoring leaders for Eau Claire were Cam Kuepers (So. – Madison, WI/Lakeside Lutheran) (18), Spencer Page (Fr. – Rice Lake, WI) (15), Ben Widdes (Sr. – Rice Lake, WI) (15), and Cole Rabedeaux (Jr. – Poulsbo, WA/North Kitsap).  Rabedeaux also produced a game-high seven rebounds and game-high four assists in the contest.
