Competing on the first day of the Illinois Wesleyan Tournament, the softball team hit eight home runs and picked up two wins against nationally-ranked teams today. Against 25th-ranked Washington University (Mo.), the Blugolds won 8-0 in six innings while taking down 21st-ranked Anderson University (Ind.) 10-1 in five innings. With three home runs today, Fischer now leads the team with nine this year, tying her season-high which she reached two years ago. She is now just two short of the Blugolds' single season record and is second in school history with 24 in her career (38 is school's career record, set by Casey Leisgang, 2005-08).

Illinois Wesleyan Spring Fling - 8th of 19
After day one of the Illinois Wesleyan Spring Fling at Ironwood Golf Course, the UW-Eau Claire women's golf team is in eighth place out of 19 teams with 349 strokes. Washington University (Mo.) leads the event with 319 strokes. Kate Engler is currently the top Blugold, tied for 12th place with 81 strokes (+9).

The women's outdoor track & field team competed at the UW-Platteville Invitational on Saturday and won two events, one in the field and one on the track. The Blugolds had six other top-three finishes.
