The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team opened its 2018-19 season Friday at UW-Whitewater. The Blugolds fell to the Warhawks 7-2.
In doubles action the Blugolds fell behind 2-1, with Molly Stewart (Amery, Wis.) and Lindsey Henderson (Prior Lake, Minn.) picking up the Blugold win at number two doubles. The pair defeated Martin/Minkov (UWW) 8-4. In singles action the Blugolds fought hard forcing a third set in three of the six singles matches. It was first year player Lindsey Henderson at the number five singles slot, who earned the only Blugold victory in singles play winning, 6-3, 1-6, 6-2.
The Blugolds will play at the UW-Whitewater Tournament tomorrow, September 1.
