MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women’s soccer players Tara Dennehy (Sr.-Eugene, OR/Churchill) and Ashley Seymour (Sr.-Verona, WI/Verona Area) were named to the All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) team, announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

The All-WIAC team was selected based off of votes by each of the conference coaches.

Dennehy lead the team in shots, goals, game winning goals, and tied for most starts. Meanwhile, Seymour also boasted the leader in assists and starts for the Blugolds this season. Seymour showed impressive versatility this season moving from her usual role as a defender to the midfield position due to injuries. She thrived in the midfield role as she scored two goals and almost tripled her shot on goal percentage from a year ago (.231% in 2014, .591% in 2015).

Both players were seniors for the Blugolds and were able to lead a large group of freshman on the team this season. Both players have logged time, starting the majority, in 78 games in their careers at Eau Claire.

Also apart of the 2015 All-WIAC women’s soccer awards included the all sportsmanship team. Eau Claire’s representative was Tara Dennehy, who was named to this team for showing exemplary sportsmanship through the entire season.
