Men's Tennis Earns Twenth Win of the Season Over Coe

MADISON, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's tennis team was back on the court in the Midwest on Saturday as they faced off against Coe College. After taking two of the three doubles matches, UW-Eau Claire was victorious in four of the six singles matches to earn a 6-3 victory.

Results

Demtri Bush (Jr. – Edina, MN/Duluth Marshall) and Kole Kolinski (Sr. – Kewaunee, WI/Ashwaubenon) started things on the right foot with an 8-6 victory at #1 doubles. John Foley (Jr. – Wayzata, MN) and Colin Chapman (Fr. – Green Bay, WI/Southwest) followed suit with an 8-3 victory at #3 doubles to give UWEC a 2-1 advantage heading to the singles flights.

Kolinski remained perfect on the day with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over N. Meskell (COE) at #4 singles. Hunter Roseth (Jr. – Lakeville, MN/South) and Tyler Grosz (Jr. – Hudson, WI) also earned wins in their respective singles matches allowing only six combined sets won by their opponents. Victor Simoes (Jr. – Sao Paulo, Brazil/Weil Academy) sealed the 6-3 win in a competitive match at the #6 slot by with a final tiebreaker score of 7-5, 6-2, 10-6.

The Blugolds will be back on the road on Saturday, April 9th when they travel to Grand Rapids, MI to take on Cornerstone University at the Grand Rapids Racquet Club and Fitness Center. The first serves are scheduled for 12PM.
