Men's Tennis Downs Hamline

St. Paul, Minn. (Blugolds.com)- The UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team downed Hamline University 8-1 on April 8. The Blugolds with a 3-0 record in the month of April won all but one singles match in the dual.

In doubles action Michael Mauthe (Neenah, Wis.) and Andrew Dahl (Fort Atkinson, Wis.) defeated Seracki/Yanagita (HUM) 8-5 at No. 1 doubles. Will Weyenberg (Neenah, Wis.) with doubles partner Danny Schoen (Brookfield, Wis.) cruised past their opponent at the No. 2 doubles slot, winning 8-1. Zach Janssen (Green Bay, Wis.) and Conrad Felten (Wausau, Wis.) completed the doubles sweep with a 9-7 win at No. 3 doubles. 

With the doubles sweep the Blugolds headed into singles action with a 3-0 lead. No let down in singles play starting with Michael Mauthe (Neenah, Wis.) winning by scores of 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, while Danny Schoen (Brookfield, Wis.) tallied 6-2, 6-1 scores for the win at No. 2 slot.  Andrew Dahl (Fort Atkinson, Wis.) recorded 6-0, 6-3 scores for the win at No. 3 singles. Will Weyenberg (Neenah, Wis.) and August Badura (Oconomowoc, Wis.) also recorded wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively.

The Blugolds will look to keep their wins streak going on April 12 against St. Scholastica. First serve is set for 3:00pm at the McPhee courts at UW-Eau Claire.
