Austin, TX (Blugolds.com)- The UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team took to the road traveling to Texas for matches over spring break. The Blugolds opened up the week with a dominating win over Concordia University 7-2.
In singles action, Andrew Dahl (Fort Atkinson,Wis.) earned the Blugolds first singles win at the No. 2 spot with scores of 6-3,6-2. Danny Schoen (Brookfield, Wis.) tallied 6-3, 6-7,10-5 scores for the win at No. 3, while Zach Janssen (Green Bay, Wis.) recorded a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 4. Conrad Felten (Wausau, Wis.) and Renan Barros (Brazil) both earned wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively.
In doubles play, Michael Mauthe (Neenah, Wis.) and Dahl tallied another win at No. 1 doubles while Felten and Janssen won by a score of 8-6 at No. 3 doubles.
The Blugolds improve to 8-2 overall and will compete tomorrow againt Southwestern University. First serve is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Marvin D. Henderson Sr. Tennis Courts in Georgetown, TX.
