Matt Cross enters his third season as an assistant coach for UW-Eau Claire men's soccer in 2023. 

The Blugold men's soccer staff wasted no time putting UW-Eau Claire on the map as the Blugolds have combined for 34 wins, 6 losses, and 1 draw in their first two seasons of exsistence. 

In 2022, the Blugolds earned the program's first berth into the NCAA postseason in just their second year. UWEC went on to defeat Luther College 3-1 and fell in a penalty kick shootout to Gustavus Adolphus College to cap off their historic season.

While working with the Blugolds, Cross coaches at the Salvo Soccer Club in Eagan, MN. Matt's roles include Girls Academy Head Coach, WPSL Assistant and General Manager. He also was the Central Geo Director, Girls Head Coach, and Boys Head Coach in 2019 to 2020. 

Before working at Salvo, Cross was the Girls Assistant Varsity Coach at Centennial High School. In 2019, his team was the MSHSL State Runner Ups. In the 2015 to 2017 seasons, Cross coached at North St. Paul High School as an Assistant Boys Varsity Coach with Coach Holm.

Matt was involved with multiple youth soccer clubs during and prior to his high school roles, with coaching jobs with Blaine Soccer Club, St. Croix Soccer Club, and Mahtomedi Soccer Club.
