EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire men's and women's basketball teams were in action today, the women in Florida and the men hosting the 45th Annual UW-Eau Claire Holiday Classic.
Women's Basketball
Connecticut College 64, UW-Eau Claire 59
The women's basketball team battled all game long and even had a chance at the end to pull off its third win of the season. But Kristin Sahr's 3-point basket that would have tied the game was off the mark with five seconds to go, and the Blugolds fell to Connecticut College 64-59 in their final game of the Land of Magic Classic at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Courtney Lewis led Eau Claire with 15 points and six rebounds.
Men's Basketball
UW-Eau Claire 65, Northland College 41
The men's basketball team showed no rust after 16 days off as they jumped out to a big halftime lead (45-20) and never looked back in a 65-41 victory over Northland College at the 45th annual Holiday Classic in Zorn Arena tonight. The Blugolds had a 46-19 rebounding advantage. Jacob Kohner had 13 points to lead the Blugolds in scoring while Adam Hjelter recorded a double-double.
