EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) - Three UW-Eau Claire Athletics teams competed today, men's and women's cross country at UW-Oshkosh and women's soccer at home.

Women's Cross Country

Brooks Invitational - 10th of 37

The women's cross country team had its top five runners come within 20 seconds of one another to lead the Blugolds to a 10th-place finish with 317 points at the 37-team Brooks Invitational in Winneconne, hosted by UW-Oshkosh. Calvin (Mich.) won the meet with 71 points. Alana Jenkins crossed the line first for the Blugolds just as she has all year, placing 53rd in a time of 23:02.27.

Men's Cross Country

Brooks Invitational - 3rd of 37

The men's cross country team went toe-to-toe with some of the top teams in its region and came in third place out of 37 teams with 133 points Saturday at the Brooks Invitational, hosted by UW-Oshkosh. North Central (Ill.) won the meet with 33 points while Washington (Mo.) finished second with 64. Ryan Mugan led the Blugolds while notching a top-10 finish. Mugan came in eighth place out of 566 competitors in a time of 24:49.65.

Women's Soccer

UW-Eau Claire 1, UW-Platteville 0

After finishing on the wrong side of back-to-back 1-0 games, the women's soccer team reversed their fortune on Saturday with a 1-0 victory over UW-Platteville at Bollinger Field. After playing five straight games on the road, the Blugolds (5-6-3, 2-3-1) finally returned home. In a game that saw five yellow cards and one red card, it was a penalty kick by Allie Stone in the second half that led the Blugolds to the victory.
