Zach Ruot enters his third season on the Blugold coaching staff in 2018-19.

The Blugolds finished their 2017-2018 season 8th in the WIAC with a 0-7 record, and a 1-9 record overall.

Ruot serves as the strength and conditioning coordinator and defensive line coach for the Blugolds, in addition to coaching the safeties along with assisting special teams. He is also the defensive coordinator for junior varsity contests.

Prior to coaching at UW-Eau Claire, Ruot coached at Luther College where he spent two years with the Norse helping with strength and conditioning, special teams, and coaching the wide receivers and tight ends. He also served as the recruiting coordinator, arranging all campus visits for prospective student-athletes and overseeing the program’s recruiting budget.

Before coaching at Luther, Ruot coached at MacMurray College (IL) where he was the strength and conditioning coach and assistant special teams coordinator while overseeing the outside linebackers. Prior to MacMurray, he was the strength and conditioning intern at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Ruot graduated from Illinois College in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management.
