Women's Cross Country Receives At-Large Bid to NCAA Championships

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's cross country team received an at-large bid to this season's NCAA Division III Championships. The Blugolds will compete as a team at nationals on Nov. 19 in Lansing, Mich., marking the fifth straight season the team has qualified for the national championships.

The Blugolds placed fourth out of 33 squads at last weekend's NCAA North Regional in Northfield, Minn. Carolyn Shult (Sr. - Augusta, Wis.) placed fifth individually to pace UW-Eau Claire, and five members of the Blugolds' lineup finished in the top 40.

UW-Eau Claire placed 22nd at the NCAA Championships last season. The Blugolds have won two national championships, with the latest coming in 2009.
