NEW ORLEANS – Regional Athletes and Coaches of the Year for the 2021 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season were announced on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Marcus Weaver (So. – Lewiston, MN/Lewiston-Altura) and Megan Wallace (Sr. – Burlington, WI) both earned Midwest Region Field Athletes of the Year.
Weaver is ranked first nationally in the decathlon at 7273 points, a total that puts him among the top-10 performers in NCAA DIII history. He is also ranked second nationally in the javelin at 63.21m (207-5) and won the event title at the WIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, in addition to placing seventh in the pole vault.
Wallace is the NCAA DIII record holder in the heptathlon with her 5471-point total from the Esten Challenge in mid-April. She is also ranked eighth nationally in the javelin at 42.93m (140-10) and 11th nationally in the long jump at 5.77m (18-11¼).

The Blugolds are competing at the 2021 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 27-29. The Blugolds have 28 athletes (16 men and 12 women) competing at the event hosted by North Carolina A&T State University.
