EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (Blugolds.com) – The UW-Eau Claire women's tennis teams earned a 9-0 victory over Edgewood College, competing for the last time this season at home today.
The Blugolds had little trouble winning each match as they improved to 15-5 on the season. Edgewood falls to 13-13.
In singles play, all six Blugolds lost only seven games combined.
Taylor Heltne (Jr.-Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley), Maddie Johnson (Fr.-Lakeville, Minn./South) and Lexi DeMario (So.-Verona, Wis./Verona Area) all won with scores of 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1, No. 4 and No. 6, respectively.
In doubles competition, the Blugolds won with scores of 8-2 (No. 1), 8-3 (No. 2), and 8-1 (No. 3). Mary Frassetto (So.-Oshkosh, Wis./West) and DeMario fell just once at No. 3 as they won their eighth consecutive match. They have yet to lose this spring.
Friday, the Blugolds will compete at Northwestern College (Minn.). Action will get underway at 3:30 p.m.
