EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (blugolds.com) – The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team hosted a triangular on Saturday with Bethel University and UW-River Falls. After a 7-2 win over the Bethel Royals, the Blugolds swept their Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) opponents 9-0.
Samantha Fuchs (Fr. – DeForest, WI), Alexa Brooks (Sr. – Beaver Dam, WI), and Morgan Nelson (So. – Beaver Dam, WI) all went 2-0 on the day in singles play during both team victories. Fuchs only surrendered three set losses in the 27 she played.
In doubles play, Fuchs and Nelson also picked up two wins between the two matches. Clare Palen (So. – Rochester, MN/Lourdes), Sydney Presler (Jr. – Eau Claire, WI/Altoona), and Megan Dekan (Fr. – Altoona, WI) also picked up wins on the day improving the team's overall record to 3-1 on the year.
The Blugolds will be back at home on Sunday, October 10th when they host WIAC opponent UW-La Crosse. First serve is scheduled for Noon (12PM) at the Olson Outdoor Tennis Courts.
