Blugolds Finish Strong at WIAC Championships

BROWN DEER, WI (blugolds.com) The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed in the second half of the WIAC Conference Championships this weekend. The Men and Women both placed second overall scoring 930 and 825. 

The Blugolds held strong during the second half of the WIAC Conference Championships with 6 first place finishes Friday, and 8 first place finishes Saturday. Both teams placed second overall while being a dominate force in every race. To end the day, Michael Bylander (Sr.-Baxter, MN/Brainerd) was awarded the WIAC Scholar Athlete Award. At the Championships UW-Eau Claire broke 3 conference and school records in the 200 Medly Relay, 800 Free Relay, and the 200 Free.

200-yard Breaststroke- Hans Hover (1:49.83)

100-Yard Freestyle- Sydney McGuine (52.76)

200-Yard Breaststroke- Michael Bylander (1:56.98)

200-Yard Breaststroke- Ella Weaver (2:21.18)

200-Yard Butterfly- Sam Ryf (1:49.85)

3-Meter Diving- Sarah Dahlk (459.45)

400 Yard Freestyle Relay- Hans Hover, Alex Jorgenson, Sam Ryf, Evan Schroeder (3:01.73)
